Case Studies 9/2026
The 23.6" ViewSonic touch monitor travels with technicians to corporate presentations, trade shows and industrial installations. The infrared touch sensing and adjustable stand with a tilt range of 0° to 40° are structurally specific features that a standard transport case cannot accommodate without compromise. The client needed a solution that protects the monitor including its stand and cabling while allowing fast setup at the destination.
The monitor has an integrated adjustable stand that complicates storage in a standard insert. Disassembling it before every transport and reassembling it on location is not practical. The insert had to incorporate the stand as part of the whole.
Key requirements:

Case construction
The case shell is made of 7 mm phenolic plywood with a HEXA surface finish that increases scratch resistance during handling. The structure is reinforced by medium aluminium profiles, and the corners are protected by steel ball elements that absorb impacts from drops or edge collisions.
The lid is held by two medium hinges and secured by two briefcase latches with an eyelet for optional padlock security. The case is carried by a plastic handle and features four rubber feet on the base to prevent sliding and cushion impacts when setting the case down.

CNC-milled Plastazote LD29 insert
The interior insert was milled from Plastazote LD29 foam to the exact geometry of the monitor. The insert design explicitly accounts for the integrated adjustable stand, so the monitor can simply be placed in and taken out without any preparation.
Finger slots are milled into the sides of the main insert. The technician can grip and lift the monitor out cleanly without applying pressure to the touch surface or levering the display.
The lower part of the insert features two padded compartments for HDMI, USB and audio cables. The cables sit separately from the monitor with no risk of scratching the screen.

Lid fixation
The inner side of the lid is lined with pyramid foam. When the case is closed, it elastically presses the monitor into the lower insert. The display will not shift even if the case is turned upside down.
Technicians receive a transport case in which both the monitor and the complete cabling have their fixed place. At the destination, the case is opened, the monitor lifted out using the ergonomic cutouts and ready to go immediately.
