High-performance protection for global Formula 1 logistics

One of Europe’s leading manufacturers of pit equipment and modular interior systems for motorsport develops and produces high-quality mobile solutions used directly in Formula 1 race operations. Their portfolio includes professional pit equipment and modular wall panel systems designed for fast deployment, precision handling and maximum reliability under extreme racing conditions.

The company required a production partner capable of supporting the large-scale manufacturing of highly complex flightcases for a major F1 programme.

As these systems travel continuously between international race venues, dedicated flightcases are an essential part of the overall solution. The cases ensure safe global transport, structured storage and reliable protection of the equipment throughout the demanding F1 calendar.

The Challenge: 100 Large-Scale Cases for a Global F1 Calendar

For a major Formula 1 project, the customer needed a reliable partner able to manufacture 100 highly complex flightcases within a tight timeline.

Cases were designed to protect professional mobile pit equipment and wall panels that are critical for race operations. These components travel continuously throughout an intensive global racing calendar and are exposed to constant loading, unloading and international freight handling.

The challenge combined:

  • large-scale production,
  • extreme durability requirements,
  • and high variability with 24 different internal configurations for various components.

At the same time, the customer needed to stay fully focused on their core competence: engineering and manufacturing the pit equipment itself.

Solution: Precision Engineering at Scale

Heavy-Duty Construction for Extreme Logistics

The project required cases with lengths of approximately 2.3 metres, designed for global F1 transport conditions.

To ensure maximum durability, we combined:

  • heavy-duty birch plywood for structural strength,
  • black Kömacel technical plastic elements,
  • white PE500 high-performance plastic components for internal protection.

This material combination provided high mechanical resistance while maintaining operational reliability under constant international transport stress.

Complex Internal Variability

A key technical requirement was the development of 24 different internal layouts, each tailored to specific pit equipment components.

The internal layouts were engineered to ensure:

  • precise positioning of equipment,
  • reliable fixation during transport,
  • protection against mechanical impact,
  • and long-term durability across an intense racing calendar.

Every configuration had to be repeatable and consistent across the full production run of 100 units.

Mobility Under Extreme Dimensions

Despite their size and structural robustness, the cases had to remain manageable for logistics teams operating under time pressure at race venues worldwide.

Mobility and handling were therefore optimised to ensure:

  • smooth international transport,
  • efficient loading and unloading,
  • and reliable daily use within the F1 operational environment.

The Result

The final solution fully met expectations in everyday use. The cases are now integrated into global F1 logistics and protect critical race equipment throughout the demanding international calendar.

Beyond the technical outcome, the project laid the foundation for a long-term partnership built on production quality, flexibility and reliable delivery performance.

“The entire F1 project required absolute precision and the highest quality possible.
In HaCase, we have found a partner who supported us and ensured high production quality along with short delivery times and excellent communication.
It was an incredible collaboration between both parties, and we are delighted to continuing this partnership.”
