For the high-end film industry, from Netflix to Apple, we manufacture a transport flightcase that serves as a complete packaging solution for the Touchproof CRLS Precision Lighting Reflector product set. In the manufacturer's distribution, this complete solution is listed as C-Drive DS (Divider System). It provides filmmakers and photographers with a mobile, immediately ready-to-use set of reflectors and accessories directly on set.

4th Dimension Lighting approached us with an already fully developed construction concept of their own. Our task was to take over the technical documentation and ensure the precise craftsmanship required for this structurally demanding case.

The distinctive feature of this project lies in the material selection. We build the case from black lightweight plastic panels (PP panels) at 7 mm thickness. Using plastic instead of classic plywood reduces the overall weight of the case by several kilograms, which significantly simplifies handling during transport.

The plastic base requires a specific technological process during assembly. To guarantee high stability of the entire construction, we use a double aluminium profile, a so-called Casemaker profile, which firmly wraps around and stiffens the case. The panels are joined with specialist rivets containing plasticiser, which securely fix the plastic without risk of cracking or material deformation.

Direct digital printing with UV curing is applied to the outer walls. This ensures long-lasting durability of the logo and graphics even under intensive outdoor use, and gives the entire set a professional branded appearance.

The case is designed as a self-contained trolley-case that can be rolled effortlessly from the vehicle directly to the set or filming location. It is equipped with integrated corner wheels, a retractable telescopic handle for easy pulling, recessed mid-panel latches and folding handles, and protective aluminium edge profiles and ball corners.

The interior of the case is precisely tailored to the requirements of sensitive optics and reflectors, where fast access and maximum security come first:

• Surface protection: The entire interior is lined with soft non-woven fabric that protects the delicate surfaces of the reflectors from scratches. The lid absorbs impacts through a bonded pyramid foam insert.
• Space division (Divider System): A fixed internal divider separates the dedicated reflector set and simultaneously provides space for Cordura bags (Speedbags) with additional accessories.
• Accessory drawer: Part of the interior is a bespoke drawer made from smooth plywood, where filmmakers and photographers can store small mounting components and grip equipment.

The result is a robust, lightweight and easily transportable case that protects high-end film lighting equipment during daily transport and accelerates setup on set.
